Apiture was previously reliant on third-party hosting for its mobile platform. While this arrangement served their customer base well, they quickly recognized the need to innovate in an evolving mobile banking market.

The Solution

In collaboration with the Apiture team, we transformed their mobile app strategy to reclaim their control over the user experience and eliminate costly annual licensing fees.

Together, we developed new Android and iOS applications and a robust admin console that makes customization a breeze across financial institutions. This comprehensive solution not only enhances user value with improved features but also empowers Apiture to innovate and differentiate in the competitive financial technology landscape.

Keeping a running log of opportunities as we went helped to ensure we were tracking along the right path. it also provided a space to document new opportunities as the project evolved.

Bringing the UX in-house opened up opportunities to advocate for a true design system for the organization. While this project laid the ground work for an advanced component library & spec wiki (for both consumer facing and admin experiences), running and maintaining a design system is only possible with a dedicated team and organizational adoption.

Being a true advocate for the client led to additional work streams where I led the redesign for Apiture’s business banking experience.

The Results

By strategically shifting their business model, they gained greater control over the user experience and eliminated costly annual licensing fees, allowing the new Apiture Xpress mobile experience to deliver client ease-of-use, adaptability, analytics, and a best-in-class experience for every mobile banking user. All while empowering clients with faster feature delivery and more reliable mobile solutions.

My Role

  • Ensuring design consistency across the overall experience

  • Conducting and supporting user validation and research

  • Concepting, feature design, and prototyping across the consumer facing mobile experience and admin experience

  • Establishing a specification wiki to be referenced for future design efforts

  • Working with the business, product owners, and software architect to gather requirements and establish design direction
